What was the function of the pyramids?

What Were The Pyramids of Ancient Egypt Used For?

The more one reads on this topic, the more peculiar it gets. There is not only a lack of consensus, but also no internal logical consistency within the various opinions. The 19th century tomb theory retains no credibility as to the initial reason for their being built; although such ancient Egyptian structures were later appropriated in some cases for this usage. This shows just how mysterious and likely hidden their initial function must have been. But for this philosopher it is astonishing that almost nobody has even considered the possibility that the pyramids were simply designed to trap lightning as a power source.

Its seems a likely prospect for numerous reasons. It is well-documented that the ancient Egyptians did not use any burning materials inside the pyramids and most other major structures, as there is no residue of wax or soot. Thus many people have concluded that the ancient Egyptians must have used some type of electric lighting. Now many others have suggested that the pyramids were a type of power-plant using hydro-electric or even nuclear energy; perhaps even a water pump or shelter from comet-strikes. But even the least imaginative person, should at least consider the possibility that the pyramids were mere attempts to control the power of lightning.

It just so happens that there are many examples of how pyramids are the most effective structures for attracting lightning. And lightning is the most clear and obvious example of abundant natural energy. Miles Mathis' account of how lightning works is the best I have seen, and he realizes that pyramids make excellent lightning attractors. But he somehow seems to miss the obvious conclusion that this is what the ancient pyramids of Egypt were actually designed for.

However, I reach my answer because I was trying to find the best structure to attract lightning in order to try and tap it. For me, this is not primarily a study on the pyramids, but a study on alternative energy sources.

The idea of ancient Egyptians using electricity is so widespread that I could not ascertain who came up with it first. The depiction (image 2) of how this may have looked is on so many websites that I do not know to whom the image must be credited. And the photo (image 1) is well known to be authentic from the Temple of Dendara.

There are all sorts of 'tin-hat' ideas about 'pyramid-power'; but all I am simply suggesting is that primitive batteries would have been placed inside the pyramid and then charged at the next lightning-strike. So it was a fairly crude process that would have used some sort of direct-current electricity, and was likely very inefficient. Probably this process followed its own evolution, and thus there were variations on the theme, as there are variations and even alterations to the internal structures of the pyramids. The electric lighting itself was probably only used for 'special' purposes by the elite. There is no evidence that the use was widespread at all, so it makes no sense to reach such a conclusion empirically, or logically. The 'Baghdad battery' is additional proof that the ancients had dabbled with electricity to a limited extent.

Image 3 is of a 'crookes tube' and is so amazingly similar to the Dendara image that you would have to be seriously narrow-minded to the point of neurotic to deny it. (Sources at end of this web-page).

Image 4 is fairly rare, and there is no description as to where it originates from, so I cannot attest to its authenticity, but it seems quite real, and is very much in keeping with this hypothesis and the previous carvings from Dendara.

Image 3
Image 4

I have not figured out just what type of battery they may have used, and what type of device may optimally be charged by a lightning strike. It being inductively clear that something must be able to retain a miniscule part of the charge of a lightning bolt. The shafts after all contain copper 'handles', or the remains of something larger. Obviously the vast bulk of a pyramid can endure numerous strikes, and their large size also attracts lightning more effectively than any other shape.

Tesla surmised that the pyramids could be used for 'zero-point energy'. A mysterious and dubious idea which, for the record, I do not agree can work at all. I reckon zero-point energy was disproved with the understanding of quantum energy from Planck. The 'ultraviolet catastrophe' and how that error was made by Rayleigh, and then resolved by Planck is dealt with in the section: Zeno and Planck.

Trapping lightning into batteries would have been of immense esoteric political power, and thus would have been a closely guarded secret. This mysterious 'Godly' power would easily be used to keep the common populace in a state of intellectual submission. All sorts of superstitious myths could be claimed by anyone wielding such 'magic'. This type of behavior is a typical practice of ruling classes, right up to this day. It is only since Christian times that the concept of 'magic' or 'esoteric wizardry' (secret knowledge) has been seen as taboo. Not that I reckon all who use the title 'Christian' adhere to the clearly worthwhile ethic of freedom of information.

A crucial point is that just because education textbooks claim that electricity was discovered in the 19th century; all we can conclude is that this is when it became used by the masses of common people. It is in-keeping with how elitist society operates to realize that electricity has likely been secretly used by a small select group since antiquity.

Yes, people do often conspire. So label me a 'conspiracy theorist' if it makes you feel better about humanity, and if you reckon conspiracies never occur. That label: 'conspiracy theorist' is itself indicative of how conspirators try to deflect attention from their deceitful deeds. So all you are doing is perpetuating your own subservience by even using such terms. It is extra-ordinarily naïve to reckon that when people make great discoveries that they always share them with the world.

Those who own and take credit for ideas, are often not the authors of those ideas. See the squabble between Tesla and Edison over alternating current and direct current for more details on the minds and ethics of scientists. Many people are devious egotists, even to the point of perpetuating false knowledge simply because publicly retaining their disproved ideas bestows upon them some sort of material advantage. This is why dogma persists: because of mundane materialism and the social status that comes with it.

The Great Pyramid was certainly not designed to be a tomb. The most glaring proof being that having crawled into the recesses of the Great Pyramid personally I can attest to not a single hieroglyph anywhere inside it at all. Numerous other studies concur that the dynastic Egyptians discovered these incredible artifacts and took possession of them millennia after their initial construction.

However, those stuck in dogmatic institutions still believe that the pyramids were tombs. Academics, of course, are hardly allowed to say anything other than to bleat the corporate mantra, no matter how out-dated it may be. Their funding and social status depends on it. As does the profits from the sale of textbooks and other media. This is how elitist structures perpetuate their political and social power, by rewarding only those who blindly follow their dogma, and thus eliminating enlightened competition. Its a very old story not only originating with the Pharaohs, but also epitomized by the narratives of the 'Emperor's New Clothes', and 'Animal Farm'. The psychology of how scientific knowledge progresses and regresses is foundational to understanding scientific knowledge itself. Ethics is a priori to science.

Fascism, nazism, and apartheid being recent examples of how pervasive it is to capture a state or institution using fear and ignorance as control mechanisms. Having grown up under apartheid it was vivid to me how they controlled people by insisting on miniscule obedience to petty commands and unimportant untruths, and thereby laying the foundation for total control of the minds of an entire nation. Once they have you accepting the seemingly unimportant untruths, they just increment the lie little by little, until you are their slave.

Only by risking everything to resist every command and untruth no matter how trivial, were the shackles of the mind finally broken. And to this day, more than a quarter of a century later, those racists still take every chance to slander me for destroying their evil government. They go so far out of their way to get at me, that I feel immense satisfaction knowing how crucial my resistance must have been to destroying that mob-mentality. This war will never end; it is a global struggle now.

Most universities all over the world nowadays have taken the mob-mentality of 'white-monopoly-capital' to ever more precarious states of brain-washing. Corporate society is attempting to move away from freedom of information, and it perpetuates the regressive idea that the laws of nature can be owned and controlled by elitist 'professional experts', heaping scorn and slanderous labels such as 'conspiracy theorist' upon any who disagree.

This is their primary mode of persuasion; a belittling emotional argument, not a logical or empirical one. Thus humanity becomes intellectually stagnant at best, living on the reputation, laurels, and the science of previous generations, all the while crumbling inside from the lack of ethics within. Do not let the advances in technology mislead you into thinking our understanding of natural laws has improved. The wonder of the internet and other modern marvels are still based primarily on physics models from the 19th century and earlier. Most recent theory for the last 100 years is sheer sophistry. The rot starts with Einstein (but that is another article).

This is how all mighty empires that ever existed, have eventually destroyed themselves. If such a psychological narrative of elitism is untrue, then we'd all still be using hieroglyphics today whilst entombing our Pharaohs in pyramids designed for an entirely different, but practical purpose. Ask yourself, how could the greatest builders ever, have simply lost power? Because their hypocrisy and myopic personal material interests were seen as more important than truth for the sake of truth. This degenerative mindset killed the Czars, the French monarchy, the Romans and the ancient Greeks as well.

Its ironic how atheist academia and other dogmatic institutions prefer to perpetuate the idea of these magnificent constructs being designed for archaic religious purposes. Whereas spiritual people seem to see the most majestic artifacts ever built, as having initially had some or other practical use. Think deeply about that one.

Nevertheless this conclusion: that the pyramids were simply designed to charge primitive batteries, was not arrived at whilst primarily studying pyramids. Instead it was realized by trying to figure out a way to construct a lightning trap. The first step is to build a structure that is most effective at attracting lightning - which intuitively seemed to be a pyramid. Then I read Miles Mathis' great article. To be fair he seems to allude to this conclusion, but then typically gets so caught up in the detail as to how lightning works that he does not quite complete his thought process. (Or perhaps he leaves it to someone else more daring to share in the flack and ridicule bestowed by the Emperor's mob).

Miles Mathis ends his analysis like this:

"I am not denying that one or more of the great pyramids had copper tops. They may have had. But in this preliminary study, I am only addressing the foundational field of energy and its creation. Once this energy is focused, it can be put to any number of uses. The ancient Egyptians may have used it to power their cities, or they may have used it to tap the ionosphere, or for many other purposes. These questions are factual and historical, not theoretical, and so are not of primary interest here." - Miles Mathis.

Currently Egypt has very little lightning generally, but various accounts have it that in ancient times the climate was quite different. This goes beyond the scope a bit. But when I visited Nyanga in Zimbabwe I heard a thunderbolt about every half-hour for the entire 3 days I was there. Looking at various websites on global lightning-density, I suggest that the mountains of Nyanga would be the best place to test any such modern equivalent.

So why are the pyramids so perfectly aligned to North? It is certain that they also had the dual purpose of predicting the seasons, and thus when it was optimal to plant crops. The shadow splits the edge of the pyramid precisely at the equinox. Here it becomes clear that the Great Pyramid actually has an indent, and is eight-sided. This feature would cement the position of the ruling elite. So sure, the Great Pyramid was a calendar too.

Image 5 is from an animation which demonstrates this dynamic on youtube (see references below for online addresses). This seems to have first been noticed quite long ago in Image 6.

Do not underestimate the importance of planting your crops at the correct time of the year by knowing when the equinox is! This is likely why Egypt survived better than most other nations of its era. Very small inaccuracies accrue in calendars such that even taking 365.25 days per year (instead of 365.2422) would result in 1 week error after a thousand years. Enough to cause crop failure and famine. So by counting new year from when the shadow splits the pyramid in half would be even more accurate than using a conventional modern leap year.

But its not enough to suggest this was their only purpose. Because a single standing-stone lined up to a mountain peak together with a well-known star, is good enough to accomplish this task. Such was clearly the purpose of simpler structures, such as stonehenge. So there must have been other reasons for the majestic size and perfect alignment of most of the Egyptian pyramids. Not the least, demonstrating that whoever built the pyramids knew more about astronomy than anyone before Copernicus. And they knew more about stone-masonry than any people today. After all, the shape of a pyramid will certainly endure better than a sky-scraper!

If you are interested in the age of the pyramids, a good source is Brien Foerster, who estimates them to have originated before the cataclysmic deluge of 9600 BC. This is an increasingly accepted perspective from 21st century online sources and by those with tech-savvy. The 'Ancient Architects channel' gives excellent proof of Giza constructions predating the dynastic Egyptians in a top-rate video (see references at bottom for details).

Of course archaic academia still accepts the 19th century opinion that the Great Pyramid was built by the dynastic Egyptians, much more recently in about 2500 BC. This has certainly been debunked by Brien Foerster and numerous other online sources. But this is not really the focus here, although I have looked at this extensively.

Brien Foerster must be commended for excellent methodology, considering all perspectives. Not that he is infallible. He seems to suggest the cataclysm from 12000 years ago shifted the Earth's axis. This would mean that the pyramids are more recent than this, because they are aligned to what would then be considered the post-cataclysmic axis of the Earth. So there is some logical inconsistency in his ideas.

If the pyramids were built before the alleged shifting of the Earth's axis by 23 degrees, then they would not be aligned like they are. Nevertheless he makes so many good observations and analyses that he certainly can be forgiven this one error. But of course shifting the axis of the Earth by 23 degrees would wipe out all major life forms, not just civilizations. Nobody has properly dated the pyramids because they are made of rock, not organic material. The date of 2500 BC is based on the age of the organic materials in the hieroglyphics. The Great Pyramid has no hieroglyphs at all.

A short point on the Orion idea from Graeme Hancock, is simply this: The smallest pyramid is not large enough to fit the 3rd star as a depiction of Orion's belt. Also the three smaller pyramids are in the wrong positions to represent the three stars in the sword of Orion. Its seems wrong to align the larger three, and then simply place the smaller three in a neat row for no clear reason. As for whether the shafts do line up to Sirius, etc, I cannot tell, though I have seen claims to suggest that they do and do not.

Matt Sibson of the youtube channel 'Ancient Architects' claims that organic samples from within the seamless cracks between the stones date to 3100 BC. But consider the next two images. Image 7 shows that two of the 'shafts' do not reach the outer edge, strangely. Image 8 shows that the entrance itself does not reach the outer edge.

Image 7
Image 8

The only logical deduction is that the outer part of the pyramid was added after the initial design. So there are at least 3 phases here: The original pyramid; the outer shell construct; and then the much later time of the dynastic Egyptians. So which part of the pyramid exactly the organic material dating to 3100 BC was obtained, is not evident. Such evidence is entirely circumstantial, and cannot be proof. The pyramid was stripped of its casing many centuries ago, and it certainly has been built on to at least once. And how many other times has it been fiddled with that we do not know of, yet?

Logically its so unlikely that the greatest construct ever built is the oldest. Moreover there is no other significant construction in this time-frame other than Gobekli Tepe which certainly dates to the cataclysm from 12000 years ago, at least. In between those two there is nothing important. Seeing as this cataclysm (often referred to as the Younger Dryas event) did destroy the better part of human civilization, then it is not a bold assertion to realize that at least the core part of the Great Pyramid of Giza was prior to this. After all, would people hide in caves for thousands of years after civilization has been all but wiped out, and then suddenly construct the greatest building of all time? - with a perfect knowledge of astronomy??

How long before 9600 BC it was built is still an open question. As you can see, there are still plenty of mysteries around the pyramids. I say this because upon visiting the Great Pyramid, and descending into its depths, what struck me as the most peculiar was the 4 foot high entrance.

Even a very short person has to keep crouching all the way down the tunnel upon exploring the greatest of all pyramids. It makes little design sense. Speculatively I can only reason that the builders were no more than 3 feet high. I have looked at this particular issue extensively for 17 years now, and no other answer is forthcoming. There really is just no other way to explain it. My apologies for ending an already controversial topic with such a 'tin-hat' conclusion. But logic is not a popularity contest.

This now unravels another logical question. Consider the hypothesis that the Great Pyramid was designed as a lightning trap, and was constructed not by the dynastic Egyptians, but some type of pygmy or even 'Flores man'. Then how did the dynastic Egyptians come to use it for that original purpose of trapping lightning? Where did the 3 foot high architects go? The speculation is quite endless, but for whatever reason the pygmies left, the ancestors of the Egyptians would have observed the use of the pyramids, perhaps they were even the working class.

If the pygmies died out or migrated after the younger Dryas event, then some of the remaining ancestors of the Egyptians would have taken over the constructs. They could have tried to emulate their previous masters, eventually naming them as 'Gods' and finally found a way to make a primitive battery that charged from lightning, after experimenting and reworking the pyramids. How the 'Gods' started as pygmies and ended up as a narrative of giants can be understood from the perspective of egotism and Chinese whispers.

The only thing about this of which I am certain, is that if anyone thinks that their understanding of the issue is anywhere near complete, then that person is a liar.

Addendum - 2023/02/24

I have just made an amazing discovery.
The angle of the Great Pyramid of Giza has been an interesting puzzle,
as its sides slope at the peculiar angle of 51.4~ degrees.

When you divide 360 by 7 you get:

The use of the pyramids as lightning traps
